2010 Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Show Dayton Ohio
Dayton Airport Expo Center : October 20 and 21, 2010
Highlights from AMTS 2009
AMTS 2009 brought together 2,300 customers and prospects seeking solutions to manufacturing challenges. The only advanced manufacturing and technology-specific trade show in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, AMTS featured 110 exhibitors during two days of technology, trends, new processes, equipment and business solutions for manufacturers.
Titled "The Power of Progress," the 2009 show held two new events to help manufacturers and suppliers explore new options for business growth.
The U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Division hosted a session designed to help manufacturers grow their business overseas. "Is Your Company Selling Internationally? An Overview of the Process and What You Need to Know," reviewed the export process from a U.S. perspective and provided information on government resources and marketing strategies to boost international sales efforts.
The second day of the show featured an exciting new forum presented by the Dayton Development Coalition: "Sheer Power: Building a Wind Energy Supply Chain." Representatives from the State of Ohio, as well as original equipment manufacturers and industry advisers, discussed opportunities in the wind energy industry and shared information about how manufacturers can enter this rapidly growing market.
AMTS 2009 also served as the venue for DTMA's semiannual Bots competition, a high-energy event that starred the remote-controlled robotic creations of the region's high school and college students. These robots, designed and manufactured by student teams with the help of local manufacturing mentors, faced off in one-to-one competition on the second day of the show.
